I think I agree with his viewpoints on the shortcomings of D2 builds. Having said that though, I just feel like they have ruined the game now. I will have to buy and see for myself.
The thing i don't like is that now everyone is basically the same build. Sure you may use different skills than me but i have those same exact skills and can use them if i want to. There's not really any incentive to replay as the same character.
What's also weird is that World Of Warcraft still uses skill points and uses them very well. I know these are two different games and play differently but they also have a lot of similarities in terms of fighting enemies and whatnot. I think that it's strange to say that skill points work in this game but they don't in this one.
One of the things I thought while watching the video is that now every person will have the same exact character. You hit it on he head. Do we know if skills unlock at certain levels like in D2? That was the problem with D2. Some of the skills were horribly out of balance. You would never use a low level skill with one class, but another class you could get by with those early skills.
You do unlock certain skills at different levels. You also get "runes" that add different things to different skills. So you and i could have the same skill but have different traits added to each one. But again, WE BOTH HAVE THIS OPTION. I seriously think i'm more excited for Torchlight 2 than for Diablo III.
