  1. The lossless sound has to do with the way they compress the audio in 5.1. Did you read the article? Dolby TrueHD does not do this, and it is in 7.1. I do not believe in the setup of 7.1, but if it is the only way to achieve lossless audio, then I must settle. 6.1 is a better setup, and then I could buy a new center and hide the old one behind me.

The ps3 puts out Dolby TrueHD, but decodes it inside the playstation and sends it that way, instead of raw audio. This upsets me, but for now I must settle.

I dream of Dolby pure circle 11.4

  2. I didn't say anyone was going to encode these systems, I am just envisioning what is and what could be. They could definately, given no restraints, create lossless sound on 5.1, 6.1... basis if they chose too. That is all I am saying. I think that your way of actually preparing for what exists is better than my way of setting up a defunct home audio system.

Also, I think you're going to need a pretty big room in order to utilize an 11.4 surround sound system.

I do think you should have bought two of those subwoofers though!

  3. Maybe, dual subwoofers are completely unecessary in my opinion(man I can't spell) because it is so low you can't really tell where it is coming from. But, it would be great to have 4 in a room for sheer badassness

  4. Some day we will empirically test that hypothesis.
