800 club

Not joining any religious cult or anything like that, but I am now in the "800" club. This is a weightlifting thing. You add up the max weights you have done in the three lifts: benchpress, deadlift, and squat. Usually people have benchmarks like 700, 800, 1000, and 1200. Here are my lifts as of right now:


Bench: 245 (multiple reps though so I am hoping to go higher)

Squat: 245 (again multiple reps so there is potential for more)

Deads: 310 (this one is a bitch for me cause of my long arms...)

Total: 800


So I am not looking to get big by any means, but just trying to get strong. My goals for the three exercises are


Bench: 315 ('3' plates we call it)

Squat: 315

Deads: 405 ('4' plates)

Total: 1035


Again a dream. Just want to get strong without gaining weight. It is a challenge.

  1. That's awesome. Good for you man. What kind of cardio do you do? I am just trying to thin down and build endurance so I really admire the discipline you have tks pump.

  2. I usually do the elliptical machine a couple of times a week and try to go hard on it. I had been playing basketball once a week, but I busted my ankle really bad and that forced me to stop. Nevertheless I started to ball again, but with school starting I haven't balled in a while.
