My vote is Season 12 Episode 14: New Kids On The Blecch
This is the episode where Bart joins a boy band.
I think that before this episode The Simpsons was losing the magic, but this solidified it. I think that The Simpsons should have canceled themselves with dignity after season 11.
In The Simpsons' defense, the first season (in my opinion) wasn't all that great either. Here's an interesting quote from Wikipedia about the topic "In 2003, to celebrate the show's 300th episode "Barting Over", USA Today published a pair of Simpsons related articles: a top-ten episodes list chosen by the webmaster of The Simpsons Archive fansite, and a top-15 list by The Simpsons' own writers. The most recent episode listed on the fan list was 1997's "Homer's Phobia"; the Simpsons' writers most recent choice was 2000's "Behind the Laughter"."

ReplyDeleteI think that is very interesting. I will just say at the turn of the century. Season 7-9 are just classic though.
