Rob - I have come down to two alternatives. I might try them out later tonight, or look at them by friday. Either way, I will give my final choice by them.
These are both open source, but the best out there is Norton Ghost, which cost money.
So, the two finalist are
Clonezilla - http://clonezilla.org/
- not associated with mozilla like the name would suggest, but open source none the less
- Supports several files systems, including NTFS(windows)
- Will do complete bit for bit transfer of your hard drive
- Live CD version available(must have)
Partimage - http://www.partimage.org/Main_Page
- Also supports NTFS
- Can boot from a live cd, but is not natively a live cd
From quick analysis Partimage is getting dominated, but it has been around much longer so I will do some further analysis.
