I have an onkyo. I went with their 7.1 model(cant remember exact model number) and have been very pleased with it. It also can be downgraded to a 6.1 system if I choose(but we've had this discussion before).
I will say, I got mine in feb or march and it was on sale because the new model came out like two weeks later.

But 200 dollars off is pretty sweet.
Also 85% 4 or 5 star reviews seems pretty good.
I got the onkyo tx-sr606 or the tx-sr605, can't remember

I say do it. I have the 607 model. This is just a slight step down in power, but not features. Do it.
